Over the years, a large number of University of Chicago students have gained fieldwork experience working alongside French, Catalan, and other European colleagues at the multinational excavation of the Iron Age Celtic port town of Lattes (ancient Lattara), near Montpellier, in Mediterranean France. Between 1997 and 2014, the Chicago Gang included Mina Benes, Joe Bonni, Martin Doppelt, Megan Edwards, Patrick Egan, Rebecca Graff, Julie Hanlon, Alex Hartnett, Alison Kohn, Steve Kosiba, Mélanie Lacan, Ben Luley, Karim Mata, Amy Sherwood, and Oren Siegel. There have also been some "adopted" Chicagonistas from other US universities, including Elizabeth Brooks, Ulrike Krotscheck, Will Meyer, Tessa Poller, and Sarah Ralph.
